The Solbank is exactly what it sounds like: a bank for solar energy. Every kWh produced in a connected solar installation is deposited into the owner’s solar account and can then be used at any time – even when the sun is not shining. Surplus of solar electricity can be sold to the Solbank, who can then create solar parking for electric cars in regular charging poles in the city. We call this a new solar system.

The information in the Solbank comes from standard utility meters, which are installed in each Solar charging pole, Solar charging station and rooftop solar cell installation. The charging stations communicate regularly with the Solbank via the mobile network or an existing internet connection, giving the Solbank close to real-time information of when and where solar power is produced and used. This in turn gives the opportunity to optimize the use of solar power.
